I'm turning three-something in
attempt to believe I caught the insect.
I haven't been feeling so lucid;
ever since we on-boarded the train,
you questioned me softly: "How are you feeling?"
Always pretend that you don't want to slap me again.
I have a habit of eating my words,
they digest until everyone's happy.
So here's my plan of attack: I lick and then seal...
... and it goes off.
Shove the blues under the living room rug
to fester at our expense.
Just tell me I can.
"Yeah, sure you can."
In the same book but not on the same page,
I struggle to annunciate.
When I am asked: the truth always hurts less
when it's offered with comforting sentiments.
As a Brooklyn-based admirer of your work, who never got to see you live, this album's existence is truly amazing. A fitting, booming document of your send-off. One of the very best bands to emerge in the 2010's. You should be VERY proud of the Doe legacy. Gone too soon but with two stellar full-lengths and a solid compilation, you made sure you left your mark. Bonus points are earned here for making me realize the hidden beauty in "2 Become 1." You completely reinvented it in the best way! Allan Raible
